I trained as an evolutionary psychologist. Before my PhD, on mate choice and social norm enforcement, came a masters in behavioural and economic science; afterwards, a postdoc in social policy — not the obvious route into a business school.

It’s really the same question asked from a different angle each time: why people behave the way they do under pressure, and what it costs them. Evolutionary psychology gives you the motives, behavioural economics the trade-offs, social policy who ends up paying for it. Being in a business school just means I finally have the data and the industry access to measure it properly.

I’m currently an Associate Professor in the Behavioural Science Group at Warwick Business School.
